Government Grants So you have a interest in Govt. grants? Their are Government grants available for almost anything you can imagine. Their are even grants available for things that you would have never thought of. Grants are something that never has to be paid back. The next thing is like everything else in the Govt., they have to be awarded, money spent. If the dept. issuing the grants doesn't spend the money during their fiscal year, they will have their budget lowered next year. They want / need to award the grants. Welcome to the way our government works. But, hey since it works this way, why not take advantage of it?
Govt grants How To There are many sources to find and apply for govt. grants. You may want to consider purchasing a program to help you streamline the process. I do know that going it alone can be confusing and very time consuming. Yes, you can do a search on a search engine and find the govt. agency giving a grant, but there are so many and you will have trouble finding them all. The most important thing is the grant application process. Cross your T's and dot your i's is an understatement. You must do everything correctly. I worked with Govt. agencies for many years doing computer and network work. What I saw on the grant process, was the ones who hired someone, to pinpoint the grants they were eligible for and more importantly used the right language. The government agencies that give grants look for and love, the applications that use big words (that no one uses in everyday language), and things laid out how they expect them in the application. Keep in mind these are Govt. employees. Get the picture?
I recommend using a grant program or hiring a grant writer, to secure a government grant. Possibly, use both. Their are Billions of dollars given away every year in grants. Almost every major company applies and receives one..why can't you? With Obama and the stimulus packages being pushed thru, there has never been a better time. Gary Porter
